Laws of stoichiometry: law of definite proportions (Proust’s law)

CB-IN-64/EV

This kit enables to verify Proust’s law: the elements of a compound comply with definite and constant weight ratios. This test will show that, although the mass of one of reactants can vary, the resulting product is determined stoichiometrically by the mass of the limiting reactant that is completely consumed. In detail, the reaction considered in this test is the reaction between iodine and zinc for the production of zinc iodide. The quantities of reacted zinc will be proportional to the quantities of iodine used in the reaction (limiting reactant).
