Equilibrium of evaporation

C-AV-24/EV

For each temperature, a vapour pressure is created above the liquid. If the external pressure is lower than the pressure of the gas phase, equilibrium is restored through the evaporation of part of the liquid phase. In this experiment the enthalpy of vaporisation of the acetone is determined by measuring the vapour pressure at different temperatures.
