Newtonian and non-newtonian fluid

C-AV-6/EV

The viscosity of a liquid can be determined through a viscometer, consisting of a spiral spring connected to a cylinder, both submerged in the liquid to be examined. The cylinder rotates by means of a variable rotational speed motor. The viscosity of the liquid generates a rotational moment on the cylinder and subsequently the torsion of the spring, which enables to measure the moment and read it on a scale.
