Molecular mass calculation of a liquid

C-AV-3/EV

The molecular mass of a liquid can be determined by evaporating the liquid at constant pressure and temperature and by measuring the volume of the steam that is formed through a calibrated syringe for gas. In this experiment the molecular masses of diethyl ether and methanol are calculated.

Training program

  • Ideal gas and real gas
  • Equation of status of ideal gases
  • Volume of the gas
  • Method of steam density
